HEAT PUMPS BOILERS

Continuing with our cycle of most common problems and solutions in heat pumps, heaters or boilers and of course in sump pumps, today we are going to talk a little about boilers or heaters.

We must bear in mind that a broken boiler can lead to a home in chaos, especially if a problem occurs during the cold winter months.

A boiler problem is a costly inconvenience and while some boiler problems can be addressed without the need to call in a professional, sometimes an experienced heating technician will be required.

Even if you take care of your boiler, problems can arise despite your best efforts.

Main problems found in boilers

We have listed some of the most common boiler problems:

  1. There is no heat generated or hot water. This could be caused by a variety of things, including ruptured air bags, motorized valve failure, or low water levels.
2.Pilot light on. This could be due to a broken thermocouple, a build-up of deposits in the pilot light, or a draft expelling the pilot light.
  2. The pipes freeze. During extremely cold weather, the condensation in this pipe can freeze and cause a blockage which in turn causes the condensate to “back up” into the boiler and cause a shutdown.
  3. Ketting. When lime scale builds up in your boilers heat exchange, it can get hot.
  4. Loss of pressure. A water leak in the system is the most common reason for a loss of pressure.
  5. The boilers turn off continuously. This can be caused by low water pressure, problems with the thermostat, and air in the system.
  6. Thermostat Has Problems: The older the thermostat, the more likely it is to be less accurate, misinterpret temperature settings, or cycle the heater on and off in case it has a solution on its own.
  7. Hips are leaking and dripping: Various problems could cause your furnace to leak water. The location of the leak should be found to help identify the problem.
  8. Boilers make strange noises and knocking. Air in the system is a common cause, this causes your central heating system to make some strange noises, such as banging, hissing or gurgling.
  9. The heating radiators do not heat up. If the radiator is hot at the bottom, but not the top, there may be air in the radiator that can be repaired by bleeding the radiator. If this is not the case, you may need a power shock to clean the pipes.
